The AV Design Services team worked with designers at Jack Morton Design, the fabricators at Black Walnut and the engineering team at Speed Channel to build a new, multi-use television studio from the ground up. Since five different shows make use of this set, interchangeable lighting was implemented to determine a unique look for each particular broadcast. Twelve 55” seamless LCD/LED displays were used to create a six by two curved display wall as well as a three by three tile display wall of the same kind. A 103” display was used as the interactive technology on the set surrounded by 46” seamless LCD/LED displays.
The network had a firm launch date, so time was of the utmost essence. The AVDS integration team specified all the necessary technical requirements and implemented the solution using some of the most sophisticated equipment available on the market today. Operation and control was integrated into an existing and fully operational television network. Factors critical to the project included emphasizing performance, usability and pleasing aesthetics. The fully functional new studio successfully launched on time and on budget.
